I design purposeful, practical visuals that help organisations and schools communicate with clarity and confidence.
About me
I’m Donna Kerkmeester, a graphic designer from DK Design. With over 20 years’ experience in education, marketing, and design, I create visuals that make it easier for schools to share their story with staff, ākonga, whānau, and their wider community.
I work with schools, community groups, and businesses to turn ideas into clean, professional design. From strategic plans and school values to logos, business cards, posters, newsletters, and magazines - I specialise in work that’s purposeful, on-brand, and easy to understand.
My approach blends creativity with a practical understanding of school life. Every design is created to work in real settings: classrooms, offices, foyers, whānau updates, and board papers - wherever your message needs to land..
Let’s create something that tells your story, beautifully and simply.
My design process
-
Fill out the contact form and I’ll get back to you within 12 hours (usually sooner).
-
We’ll schedule a quick chat - by phone or video - to talk through what you need and how I can help.
-
I’ll send you a simple briefing form to capture your goals, style, audience and must-haves. This gives me a solid foundation to work from.
-
I’ll do a bit of homework - looking into your industry and visual trends - then share a mood board or visual direction so we’re aligned before design begins.
-
You’ll receive a couple of design concepts to review. We’ll refine the one you like best with up to two rounds of changes.
-
If I’ve created a logo or visual identity, I’ll create a basic brand guide - showing logo usage, colours, fonts, and key visual rules.
-
You’ll receive your final files - ready to use straight away.
-
Once the work is delivered, I’ll send through the invoice. Standard payment terms are 14 days.
